After printing front and back correctly on my first two Xmas cards last nite, the printer started printing breaking up page content- printing part of the page on one sheet of paper, and then began "sreading out" the content of the page by printing the remainder of the page's text on two additional sheets of paper. HP support recommended reinstalling the print driver, which I did. The next two Xmas card printed fine. On the third one, the front side of the card printed. I reinserted the paper in the print and pressed "OK" to begin printing the second side. Although the printer's green light was blinking, nothing else happened. Then an HP message box came up stating that the software was not installed properly and needed to be reinstalled.
So I reinstalled the software. The printer started working again, but just began spitting out page after page of 1-line ascii symbols.
The Windows print dialog box was still active, and despite trying to delete the current print job, it would not delete. I even turned off the printer, disconnected it, and rebooted the computer. The print job was still there, with the status listed as "deleting", which it seemed to be hung up at. It is still hung up and the computer will not respond to my attempts to uninstall the printer, either by right clicking and selecting Delete for that printer in the Control Panel, or selecting Uninstall from the start/programs/HP 932 menu. Other computer programs are working fine.
I realize that this is a multi part problem that seems to be tied into a driver which has become corrupted for some reason (I downloaded the correct driver for my computer (Windows XP) from the HP site).
Any thoughts about what I should try next would be greatly appreciated.
