HP DeskJet 812c blinking ink light

I have an HP DeskJet 812c which periodically decides that one of the installed ink cartridges is empty, even though they may both be new. I had once found a tech note, somewhere, which described how to correct a defect in an INI or CFG file associated with the printer. The tech note indicated that a missing entry could be added to this file which would instruct the printer to ignore the "out of ink" condition.

Has anyone else heard of this? Does anyone know the name of the INI or CFG file invovled or what the necessary syntax is?
