My printer will print a test page with no problem. But will not print anything sent from my computer. Could it be a carriage stall fault and if so can it be replaced? HP's site is of no use.

By test page, do you mean Windows' test page or the printer's own self-test? If it is the latter and not the former, I would check the cable and drivers first.
