HP Compaq NC6000 Notebooks with Failing Toshiba Hard Drives

Has anyone experienced an exessive failure with HP Compaq NC6000 Notebooks using Toshiba HD's? We have had at least 8 of them go bad. Trying to see what can cause that. We have also had Toshiba 6100 notebooks and the Toshiba hard drives did the same thing. Any ideas?
