Dear All :
If I have a Cisco Structured Network and I want to add a new HP Backbone Switch – ProCurve Switch 5406zl Intelligent Edge - and I want to ensure that it's a fully combatable with Cisco Environment ???

What other switch are you connecting the 5406 to.

In any event it is fine, just remember to use 802.1Q trunking on the Cisco, make sure they are both trunking the same vlans and the same management vlan.

Otherwise it's all good

I found that no problem at all with HP Procurve and the PoE with Cisco Phones - they are working fine ...
the VLAN should be assigned manually on the phone sets which is not a big deal - sending some jenior staff to make the changes will be enough ...

I do beleive that working with HP will be a good chance to save some money and get faster backbones with smaller size ...
