I am trying to connect an HP 4600dn colour laser printer to a networked Apple mac G4.
The network is all PC's except for this one Apple Mac.
I know less than zero about Apple Mac but have managed to sort out TCP/IP static address for it. All other PC's and unix server have static address's.
When I install printer on Apple Mac it says HP recommend Laserwriter 8 so I accept this. The printer gets installed ok and I can now print to it BUT i cannot get it to do Duplex printing (on both sides of page). There is an option on the page set-up to do this but it is greyed out so I cannot tick it. Printer works fine with PC's and option is available there. Software is Quark express on Mac & Pc.
Is it because Laserwriter8 does not support duplex??
Do I need another driver??
Urgent help required please anybody!
