HP Color Laserjet 1500L: Can't print using USB in Win98

This printer was working fine until the computer had software issues and was reimaged. The driver used from the HP site only allows the selection of the LPT port. I need a print driver that allows use of the USB port. The alternative is to manually set the port through the Windows 98 registry. I appreciate any help in this matter. In the interim, I am going to try to order an official CD from HP.

Is this WIN98SE ? Look on the software cd for the usb drivers.
