I came across this forum after doing search for HP printer forums. I just bought an hP c7180 unit and I am having problems with the scanning portion. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software twice. It prints fine and can scan photos so I know it is not a hardware issue. It will not allow me to scan to my computer. I have talked on line with HP and gone thru some steps and they aggree it is a software issue. At this point I am going to use the files from their web page vs the CD and see if that makes a difference. I have the unit hooked up wirelessly at first and then plugged it into my router to see if that made a difference but it did not. I am using Norton firewall which I do disable before installing. I like this machine a lot so I am hoping you guys may have a solution. I will say it did work once after a reinstall but over night when i tried again stopped. I did to the uninstall using what the tech said was a level 3 uninstall through the DOS window on the Run command line.
