hello ppl,
I've installed HP printer software into my laptop and it causes a problem that makes me annoyed . Everytime I startup my laptop , I see a red cross over the network symbol ,but how strange I still can go online as usual . After about 60s , the red cross dissapears . I am sure that HP printer software that I installed caused this issue , because when I tried to remove them from my laptop , I dont see that red cross again whenever I startup my laptop .

Although this problem doesnt effect my network connection , but its really annoying because I dont know if it connects or not . Anyone knows how to fix this ? thank you

hi,
when I setup printer on servers, I never run printer setup,
neither use wizard. Wizard can be useful to unload drivers
from Windows Update if you have not driver or it is not MS certified.

Follow 4 steps:

0) explode printer driver (an exe file) in a desktop
ot temp directory. If you have setup, run it, and after
it has exploded files, abort setup.
This point can be jumped if you want/can use driver listed
in the computer porinter list. It may be older but is sure certified.

Go in "Printer and Fax" and run File|Server Properties;

1) Create the port: Ports tab, add a port, Standard TCPIP
(look before if already exists it from previous setup)

2) Install driver: Driver Tab, Add.
In this way does not compare Windows Update button.
Browse to the directory where you have exploded driver (.inf file + drivers). If Windows says that the driver is not certified, abort this point, and jump to next point.

3) in "Printer and Fax", click add a printer, follow the wizard, choose the port created in point 1, choose the driver previously installed, or press Windows Update and follow instructions: it is slow, computer seems to hang,
but you have just to wait.

Finish wizard an give a name to the printer.

ciao
