I am obtaining poor performance from a HP9000 model N server attached to a HP Surestore E Disk Array 12H subsystem, with sybase.
After analyzing the problem, what I need to do is to distribute specific files (logfiles, tempdb, data files, audit files)over different disks in order to avoid disk contention.
Actually the disk system is configured as RAID-5 automatically, but in order to improve performance, what I need to do is to re-arrange the RAID structure in several RAID-10 arrays.
Can I configure it in a permanent way with the RAID I need to use in a heavy transaction processing environment?
Have you any idea to improve performance in such environment?
Thanks for your help
