I have an HP 970CXi deskjet connected via USB to Win 2K, ASUS TUSL2-C, 512MB RAM, 40 GB HD.
It takes a long time to start printing. After this unusual delay, it prints OK. Using latest driver from HP. No conflicts.
As a comparison, another printer I have, connected via parallel port, an HP 820Cxi, starts printing much sooner than the 970CXi, supposedly a "professional, fast" printer.
By the way, when it starts printing, it prints fast. The problem is to start.
Any ideas?
Thanks

alexmelo,

Check out the settings in the advanced tab of your printer properties. Your choices are:

* Printing after last page is spooled.
* Start printing immediately.

Make sure that the second option is selected!

If this does not help, check your USB settings in the device manager. You should be printing faster on USB than the LPT port.

As a last resort, uninstall and reinstall the HP printer drivers.

Good luck!
