Just repaired an HP8550 mfp Laser printer and it will not hold the engine settings in memory? Any ideas on why this is would be great help!

Are you putting in both engine codes?
Perform a start-up NVRAM init.Then try again.

Is that true NVRam, or does it need a battery to remember the settings? If there's a memory battery, that could be his problem.

(Sorry, too lazy this morning to pull a service manual on it... lol)
