hp 8550 print speed

i was trying to print 11 X 17 newsletter from microsoft publisher. it was 324 mb. the hp 8550 would print a page about every 5 minutes (three hours for 50 pages). can someone tell me if i need to change a setting or something.

If not allready using the PS driver, try to switch to that one. A memory increase on the printer might also be adviceable when doing such large and complex printing jobs.
