Hi,
I ask for help on this problem: (sorry for the long text)
I have a HP 820Cxi on my Win2k; it was printing OK since installation. Suddenly, stopped responding to any attempt to print, both test pages and from Word. No error message; just: "there was an error trying to print" or similar.
It is on LPT1. I took the printer to another computer with Win 98SE where it was before: it prints perfectly in all situations. So, the problem is not in the printer nor in the cable.
I am sure my parallel port in Win 2K is OK because I have a device (dongle) for a special software I have via a switchbox and it works OK in both channels, A and B. (1 computer x 2 printers, mechanical).
I din't change anything in Control Panel of Win2k; it is ACPI and everything else works OK, including another USB printer.
The only odd thing is that PDF Writer (of Acrobat 5) is on the same LPT1: but it was there all the time. And, in Control Panel, Hardware, Ports, LPT1, it is checked "never use an interruption". But it was this way, always.
Already uninstalled and installed several times; the driver is native from Win2K, as explained in HP and MS sites. (Add Printer in Control Panel and select Manufacuterr and Model).
I can not think of anything else.
Thanks,
Alexandre
