When printing a document with black and colors under Win98, good old HP-820 used to select cartridges automatically. Under XP Pro, I have to choose Black & White or Color. If the doc has black and colors and I select "Color", the printer uses the color cartridge to print in color AND in black (which isn't really black). Contacted HP support and got a generic, useless answer. Tried to install the original driver (diskette) but XP won't let me. Tried to download an updated driver from HP but they tell me this is not necessasry for XP... Is there a way to force XP to accept the original driver? Aside from acquiring a new printer (or downgrading to Win98...), how else could this be resolved? Thanks.
