HP 5p manual feed problem

My HP Lazerjet 5p manual feed tray doesn't work. The printer prints from the lower paper tray but not the upper manual feed. I hear two clicking sounds as it tries to pick up the paper, but then nothing happens and the paper jam light goes on (amber) - the light closes to the rear of the printer and just below the orange reset button. Usually something pushes the paper up and it is picked up. Now the paper stack is not pushed up. I've tried several different software and printing a test page. The lower tray works fine, but the manual upper tray doesn't. I have also removed the toner cartridge and reseated it several times, with no luck. Any help is appreciated.

it a hardware porblem sounds like a borken gear or something look for a carcked transfer gear

I think the problem is the trya 1 Solenoid P/N RH7-1258-000CN or the Pickup roller assy RG9-1082-000CN.
