Hi,
I have a hp deskjet 5552 printer which has been working fine for the last 18 months, and although this is not a major problem, I was wondering if anybody knew why suddenly the automatic powerdown feature should stop functioning.. in the past, approx 45mins after the last print job was complete the printer automatically shutdown,
but now I need to manually push the power on/off button to shutdown the printer and thus kill the green power-on light.. like I said this is not a major.. just a little puzzeling..
P.S great forum, only joined today but I have already learnt alot..
Thanks for any help.

With all Deskjets, when they start to do things out of the ordinary, best thing you can do is perform a factory reset. You might have to go to HP's site to lookup the button codes. The only other thing I can think of is communications. Disconnect the printer from the computer and turn it off. Turn it on, see if it powers off in an hour or not.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
