hp 4500,8500 range,grayscale looks slightly pink or green

hi,
ive seen this fault on a few hp 4500 and 8500 colour printers , when printing a grayscale page, the gray looks more of a pink or light green colour than gray, does anyone know the cause or the problem, and which part needs replacing if any?
