HP 4250 & XP SP3

Have installed XP SP3 onto a Dell Dimension 9200 ..... didn't boot, corrupt files ; sorted that through recovery console, booted up and removed XP3 ..... now the printer won't work ..... asks for the driver to be reinstalled, which it does, but then nada, nothing, zip, diddly-squat, naff all etc etc

Any ideas (have recreated the printer already as well as re-installing the driver !!)
