I have a bit of an interesting one. We have a 4800 and when I connect it to any of our HP 1800 series switches, it cannot see (ping) any of them, unless they are connected to the 4800 port 23. I have configured port 1 to match the same properties and when connect cannot ping the 1800.
The 1800 is on the sub net of 192.0.0.0 (the second VLAN in the 4800) both ports 1 and 23 are trunk ports and I have mirrored there settings. Port 23 is a combo port, but I do not believe that this should make a difference. Both port are set to allow all VLANS.
The only difference when I display the port details is that 23 set to auto speed and duplex automatically detects full duplex and a gigabit connection.
Any thoughts anyone......I am stuck.
