Hello All
It's a multifunction device. Looks like they're not getting some of the faxes.
The sending side reported that "the code "0082" indicates there is a disconnect from the receiving machine. They said that our machine
sends out a signal to your machine, somewhere along the way the signal disconnects which means there is some type of interference between the two signals resulting in a disconnect. The suggested trying to re-send
the fax at a later time in the day."

Any info , suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks~

Here's a few basic TS steps to take..

First to check would be if the the 2840 responds like this on all incoming faxes from different senders ?
If only one sender generates these errors on the 2840 I'd suggest to TS on that device and not the 2840.

If however the errors seems to happen all the time, try make a change to some of the settings on the 2840 like...
From the menu Fax setup -> All faxes -> Try enable/disable the ECM (error correction mode)
From the menu Fax setup -> All faxes -> V.34 try enable or disble the protocol (change of fax negotiation protocol/speed).
Are you using ditinctive call by any chance ?
Try to make a manual recieve of an incomming fax to see if it makes any difference.
Is the fax conencted to a pure analog line or are there any ISDN, DSL, PBX or other devices connected ?
Is there any phone connected to the outlet of the 2840 ?
