HP 2800n not printing in Black & White

I am printing an EPS file from a SCO Unix server that has color logos and black writing the rest of the way. The black in the logos comes out great. But, the black within the text is coming out a brown or maroon color.

Is there some setting that needs to changed in order for the printer not to approximate black, but to just print black?
