The 1100 hp uses 4, 8, & 16MB HP Printer 100 pin EDO DIMM (p/n C4137A. My question is must I use HP memory Dimms or will any Dimm chip work? If I try another chip will it damage the HP printer?
This is what HP officially says:
The HP LaserJet 1100 product supports the following DIMM type:
EDO: (Extended Data Output) technology that retains data in memory while the processor continues with other operations. This memory is single-tasking.
Specifications: EDO: 100 pin, 32 bit, 60ns, 3.3 volts, 1K refresh rate
NOTE: The EDO technology conforms to the JEDEC standard. It is unbuffered and does not support error correction.
To ensure compatibility, make sure the HP product number and logo is identified on the DIMM.
The maximum add-on is 16 MB.
Officially HP support only HP memory, but if you stick to the specifications mentioned above I doubt it will damage your printer.
