I have a HP 1100 laserjet printer. At work on Friday a sticky label got stuck in the printers cartridge. This caused the printer to jam up and it started to make a clicking noise. I replaced the cartridge but now it won't print out properly. Two vertical white lines appear all the way through the document. I have tried all the simple stuff such as checking settings and have tried two new cartridges. Also I have striped the printer down but can't see anything obvious wrong. How do laserjet printers work, what could need cleaned or replaced.

Cheers

Jeremy

labels. . .the death knell of Laserjets. You have a label in the printer, friend. Open front door, remove cart. You'll see two Phillips screws on either side of the place in front of the toner cart. That will let you take out the works. Then look for your label on one of the rollers.

And send your labels through the copy machine instead of the printer. The heat from the 1100 doesn't go well with the gummy stuff on the labels. . .and if you gum up the Xerox, they'll come out and fix it for you!
