Howto restore exchange2000 using redirected restore?

How do you do a redirected restore for an exchange2000 backup? The documents say the System Attendent service must be running. Should this be the only service running? Appreciate any info/advice from people who are familiar with the procedure.

You can leave all the Exchange services running for Exch2K. Just make sure you dismount the Information Store databases to be restored and mark them as able to be overwritten. Deselect No Loss Restore in BE and redirect the restore. Are you redirecting it to a server in another Forest? Cause it has to go to a server w/same server name, set up the same way as the original.

I dont have the original exchange server nor the same windows domain. The backup server and exchange server are all on the same network and windows domain though. Just the server name is different. I'm not sure what you mean by "another forest" but i think the answer is no. It's a pretty simple environment. I thought the point of a redirected restore was you didn't have to have the same server name? I did rename the Mailbox store to "Mailbox Store (EXMAIL)" to match the name the backup has as well as the public store. The original server's name was EXMAIL. The current server name is PS-PS-1550-05.

I have marked the database to be able to be overwritten and also dismounted the mailbox store and public store. However upon attempting to do a redirected restore it still fails and the log looks like:
