I have one server on an account that use charged for gigabyte-usage per month. I'm never close, but I'd like to reset the 'ifconfig' tally of bytes sent on the interface.
My 'ifconfig' shows the following:
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:30:XX:XX:35:XX
inet addr:XX.XX.XX.XX Bcast:XX.XX.XX.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:104810196 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:24852155 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:3 carrier:1829
collisions:2107613 txqueuelen:100
RX bytes:914038009 (871.6 Mb) TX bytes:3202391915 (3054.0 Mb)
Interrupt:10 Base address:0xc000
How can I crontab the rest of the network stats without having to bounce the network service?
