Hi!

I wasn't able to find the outline-properties in Photopaint 10. I must make a dashed line. How can I do that?? I can only change the color and width of the outline, not the style!?

Thanks in advance,

PrivatePanic

There is no outline tool in Paint that is similar to the one in draw. How complex of an outline is this dashed line??? If it is a basic shape, you might be able to create it in Draw, save it as a bitmap, and export to paint. If it is very complex I would suggest creating a mask around your image, then "border" your mask by 2 pixels or so (depending on the size of your image). This won't give a dashed line, but it will give a solid border mask. You could then use the paint brush and fill in dashed areas around the mask border. Granted this is sloppy, but it will do if all other options fail. Is it possible that it would be easier to accomplish your task in Draw with the bitmap tools???

Hope this helps...

Okay, thank you... I think it's okay to do it in one of these ways, but I also think it's not acceptable that such a powerful application isn't able to do a simple dashed box around something ;)

Thanx anyways, I was just wondering.

Photopaint is designed for editing bitmap graphical images, dotted lines are generally a vector design element and as such part of CorelDRAW, a vector based graphical application. If you compare these products with Adobe's Illustrator (CorelDRAW) and Photoshop (Photopaint) you will see this is a standard practice. It all comes down to using the proper tool for the proper job. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

I agree with the last message; ater all, you can import your image in Corel DRAW.
In alternative, you can try to use the Image Distribution Command (I hope it's the correct translation...I'm an Italian version user), from the lowest button in the left side of the screen (default configuration).
But result it's nothing compared with Corel DRAW...
