Howdy,

We're trying to implement WebAccess browsers in our school system. Basically, we've got nine sites (eight of them remote to our administrative team) and we'll have approximately 3,500 users/mailboxes.

We're leaning towards deploying WebAccess as the primary client for GroupWise access - we want to have remote access and we also have a bunch of Macs deployed.

Given that, can anybody tell me:

1. Is there a way to do a silent install of the WebAccess client? Silent install of the desktop client?

2. I understand that we can use the desktop client and coordinate the password with eDirectory so a separate password does not need to happen. However, with the WebAccess client, we can't seem to get around setting
the password manually in ConsoleOne (i.e., the WebAccess client doesn't recognize the user's password, even if they're logged in to the network.)

Is there a way to force WebAccess to view the NDS/eDirectory user passwords?

Keep in mind we're talking about 3,500 users, so we want to eliminate having to modify each user's NDS object if possible.

Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

1a. The WebAccess client is a Web Browser, use any web browser on the system, you will have issues with older browsers.

1b. These links should help you setup a silent install of the GroupWise client.

2. In the GroupWise client password doesn't realy sync with your NDS password. The system just recognizes your NDS authentication and passes your GroupWise password to the mail system. You must have a password on your mail box to use WebAccess. You can set a users GroupWise password with in ConsoleOne or NWAdmin. I do no know if there is a way to automate this.

Here are some TID's for reference
