Guys/Gals,

I'm currently working in a MF1.8 NT4 environment of 12 servers. We use a DOS Batch file that uses a combination of "Query server" & "Query user" and "NET USER" commands to find which server a user is logged onto.

As part of our migration to MF XP & Win2K, I will need to re-write this to use qfarm etc, but I would really prefer not to use it at all. I don't particularly want to use the shadow taskbar either, as I hate wasting time by creating a new session on the same server.

My question for you all is: "Within your Metaframe XP Farm, how do you find out which server a user is logged onto when you want to shadow them?"

Cheers,
Sam

The Citrix Mangement Console, of course. It will show what user is connected to any server or published app. And it has a nice right click context menu for shadow, logoff, reset and more. Very nice.

Yes, and no. It's great for small numbers of users, but with many users across many server (including some with multiple sessions on mulitple servers) it's a little clumsy.

Don't get me wrong, I use MFadmin heavily at the moment, and use CMC a heap on the new development boxes that we run, but I like quick ways better than clumsy ones. Cheers,
Sam
