ok guys,
i only work with front end at this point, so I need all the info you can give me.
Here's what somebody wants to do:
on the existing web site (that runs on Win 2000 server and has ASP enabled) to create a secure directory for the clients. a client goes to a specific page, enters the user name and password and will be taken to a directory where s/he can see images that only belong to him/her.
I have absolutely NO clue as to how to do that.
Thanks for any info you can give me (preferrably detailed *lol*) --------------------------------------------------

Hi

It's too large a subject! This is why you have not had any response yet, because we would spend so long writing it all down! There are a number of really useful FAQs for you in this forum and much as I am loathed by the whole idea of replying with a "look at the FAQs" curt response (and I've seen plenty of them) it would be a really good idea to read some of them. They cover all aspects of your query and most of them are really top rate and well written.

Have a good paw through them, then get back to us with your next set of questions that may require a lot less typing. Derren

Derren,
thanks for replying *lol* I myself would get lazy sometimes and would not bother typing in a long answer. :)
It's just that I am totally clueless when it comes to server side, so I wasn't able to ask a very specific question.
I have some kind of an idea - what I probably need is to try and build a "structure" in my head and then look for specific answeres on how to do particular things.
Of course, learning asp a-z would be the best, but at this point i need to get the stuff done. My job only involves front end, so I did not expect a question like this to come up this morning.
I will look through FAQs and hopefully will get a better understanding of what I need to do.
Thanks.
