I have a single 250GB disk that is configured in two partitions, my C: and an O: drive. the O: drive consists of two volumes (is that the correct terminology?)

My problem is I want to delete one of the two volumes that make up my O: drive but am unsure how to do that without deleting the entire O: drive.

If my blathering made sense can someone suggest a solution?
btw it's a dynamic disk, SATA, running win xp sp2.

I'm not sure i understand, you have a drive that has a drive letter of O: but has 2 volumes?

That's not possible. A volume is the usable space on a partition. In essence its the partition.

Can you explain a little better what you have and what you want to do?

Maybe add an image of what you see, so we know what you are talking about?

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

You can delete the last logical drive you created without affecting the first logical drive you created or the extended partition that holds both.
Haven't done it on XP but suspect you want disk management under administrative tools in the control panel.
Or you can use the tools provided by a disk manager like partition magic.

Does Partition Magic handle dynamic disks? That is what TechCarnivore mentions he is dealing with.

Did in earlier versions. Don't recall looking past ver 8.
