how wide is to wide for an oracle table in a data warehouse

we have a very wide order line table. are there any best practices for dealing with this. like

1 break up the table into tables
2. use large block sizes
 
Sort by date Sort by votes
A little more information is needed

How many columns?
Is the data normalized?
Does it contain LOB's?
