Hi,

is it possible to connect two pc's directly through a normal internal modem cable. That is, I want to connect a laptop and a desktop together through a modem cable (I think it's RJ11), as in a PDA-PC connection. However this connection would not be through a serial cable.

if it's possible, any help would be appreciated

thanks

Hi,

If you just want to connect the laptop to the desktop, you don't need a hub. You indeed need the cross-over cable or you should use cross-coupling technique. I don't exactly know the way to connect.

The following link has got some useful information.

Both the systems should have LAN cards(now a days all the systems are having this)
