I am trying to learn how to gather certain information. All in an encrypted manner.
Input it into an Access Database on the Server (again, the database needs to stay encrypted).
Then be able to download that information to my local system. (Again staying encrypted).
I am going to sign up for the Verisign 14 day trial certificate to test this all out.
Problem is, I have no idea where to start.
Can someone either give me an idea what to do, or send me to some kind of tutorial online that might help me.

Thanks.

SSL is the secure connection between the client and the server, any scripts you have will still work as normal. The only differnence is instead of http it is https, thereby getting the padlock symbol.

IIS does all the "tunnel" encryption, you don't have to worry about it, you simply add the certificate to the website in IIS. It's pretty straight forward, and there should be walk throughs on the verisign website on how to apply the secure certificate.

now if you're worried about some one 'stealing' the access database, then store the mdf OUTSIDE of the web content area, and you can map to it from within the script. Best bet, have a good search on google!
