how to work out size of market for keyword terms 1

is there a method to working out the size of a market for particular search keyword terms?

for instance... if i had the keyword 'investments' ...how could i find out the number of people searching for it...

1) in the uk
2) globally

Have a look at Google's keyword tool - as of a week or two ago they give a reasonable idea to the search volume

Good link. FYI, the correct TGML for adding a link is [ignore]Google [/ignore]

...which will look like this: Google

There's a space after the word "link" in the first [link].
