Hi
I am trying to go around the locking problem in Access
So what I want to do is to make my record be exactly 2048 bytes?

How would I check the size of the record?

Thanks

Hmmmmmmmmm,

the 'short answer' is just do the tools documenter thing and add up the field sizes as displayed.

the REAL answer is much to long winded for me to even start at this time of the day, but you can accomplish the same in many other ways, and use (waste) much less storage. In Access 2K (and later) you do not actually need to 'waste' any storage, as the younger (and wiser?) Ms. A. can be coaxed into using record locking.

Also, the reference to 2048 bytes is incorrect. First because it ASSUMES 2K blocks, which may not be correct for a specific PC, and second because you need only to occupy some portion of (whatever size) block (so that one additional record will not fit (completly) in the block.
