We've had a server crash due to the SYSTEM hive file growing beyond 12mb, we've fixed it using a system restore, but we've got other servers with the same issue, and we can't reboot them.
I'm trying to figure out why it's grown so large (yesterday at 6pm it was 4mb, at 12mid it was 12mb) so we can determine how to stop this from happening.
my problem is, I can't find any programs that will allow me to open these files. notepad/wordpad only shows garbled text, and I can't open them with regedit or regedt32
any ideas?
