I'am having trouble getting related data to print.
I figured if I could see the records being fed to the print routine I could figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I'm told there we can veiw Crystal Report report dataset of the records. How is this done?
We have Crystal Report ver. 10(Sandard).

Hi,
Not sure what you mean..In CR, what you see is what gets printed..Is some data not getting to the printer but is in the Report when viewed?

Now, the print preview is where the data is omitted.
About the Crystal Report db set, I believe CR creates a temporary data set from the ACCESS data set requested from
the Record Select feature in CR. If this is true, I would like to see the records in it.

Do you mean that your selection statment isn't giving you all of the data that you expected? Did you write it yourself, or use the expert? Or is it someone else's report and you are fixing it?

Check Database > Show SQL to get a look at the selection, though only for the part done by the Server.

Try removing a selection criterion and getting a look at the data. It might not be what you expect.

One very common error is to do a test for a field that has a null value. If you don't first do an isnull test, the entire test fails. This applies even if you test a particular field for a value and then for null; that was an error I made when starting out.
