how to view dot files via ftp (ProFTPD) 1

I installed RH8.0 - linux server, en I use ProFTPD to transfer files and I cannot see dot files.

In ProFTPD configuration I have this line:

ShowDotFiles on

How can I view dot files?

Could you configure what the 'ls' command does (ie. ls -la)??
