How to verify definitions are up to date

I am running Norton Antivirus 2006, and would like to check a file or registries setting and determine if my definitions are up to date. Is there any way to do this? I would like to pull some type of report on the file or registry setting and know the date of the definitions.

it will tell you in the program itself
open up the norton program click on antivirus and then status

the third line from the bottom will tell you how old the virus defs. are
