Hopefully I can explain my question well enough for you to understand.

If I have an object in Illustrator, that object is vectorized, I'm good so far. If I add an outline to this object, how do I create the vector from the outside outline?

The reason I'm asking is because I need the outside vector line in order to cut it on my plotter.

If anybody has any info, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

...select object with stroke...

...then go to object > path > outline stroke...

...you can also do this using object > expand...

...you may need to delete unnecessary paths, so best view in outline view to see, do this with command/apple + Y...

...you can also outline view target layers by pressing command/apple and clicking on the eye in the layers palette...

...command/apple is equivalent to the control key on PC windows...

Thank you, that will simplify things a lot. I knew it there had to be an easy way to do this.

Thanks for the help.
