Hi,

I've been searching the forum for about 20 minutes and can't find the info I seek.

I'd like to be able to validate the integrity of a .rpm file (i.e. to make sure that the .rpm file is not corrupt). I've got a set of CD-ROMs with a bunch of .rpm files on them and my manager wants me to verify they are all intact and usable. No way do I want to install all these rpms just to validate their integrity :)

"man rpm" was my first stop before even going to the web. :)

From what I've read, the "verify" option is for use in verifying the installation of an rpm, not for validating that an .rpm file is not corrupted. My hope is that there is a command I can run that will compare an checksum (or something of that nature) stored inside the .rpm file with a calculated checksum without having to actually install every .rpm file.

I will re-read the man page. Thanks for the reply.

I may be chasing my own tail on this one. :)
