How to use xmodem to upload a new config to my 2960

Can anyone give me some instructions on how to use X-Modem to upload a new config through the console port?

What type of device do you want to upload to?

johnilu -- I figured it out, but I can't do what I wanted as my terminal emulator only supports zmodem and my IOS does not.

I'm going to have assign an IP address and tftp the config.

If you need xmodem then just out and download Tera Term a free term emulator . Not sure what you mean xmodem a config thru the console , can't you get into the switch ?

If I remember correctly, it's simply copy xmodem start. However, ymodem is superior to xmodem. zmodem is far superior to both; I have no idea why cisco doesn't support it.
