Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how to use the SMTP service in Windows XP Professional. I try to use it from my VB program. It shows an error message "Unable to relay for <receipient Address>.

I'd be willing to bet you are sending an E-Mail using one account but you are connected to a different ISP. Happens to me if I forget which ISP I'm logged on to. The ISPs do not like to relay for their competitors.

Which often happens if you change ISPs and email addresses but still log into them all to get any emails sent to previous accounts. One comes in from an old address, you hit reply and it tries to use your current ISP to relay the reply - As Berton said - they don't like that!!!

Regards
