How to use the MCDN between a 50 & 400?

I have 2 systems that are using SIP trunks to do the private dialing, recently the customer wanted the 2 systems to use the same auto attd. They set up a transfer node to direct all public inbound calls to transfer to the auto attd on the 400. This works great, but now when someone calls into the 50 to check there messages it rings on the control set before it goes to voice mail.

They have MCDN and I know this needs to be set up for the NCRI and TAT to work, but I'm not sure how to set this up. I looked in the Networking Configuration guide, but it talks more about load codes and a Meridan system.

Any tips on how to set this up would be greatly appreciated.

I'm fairly certain that MCDN requires you have a Meridian system, I don't think BCM to BCM can use MCDN.

What are they calling on the 50.Their extention, then their MB should answer after 4 rings or set up an attendent with one number access on the 50 to answer with no rings then ** to access VM.Take the prime off of the trunks so it wont ring on the prime set.

MCDN is for centralized VM and it can be used on multiple BCM;S.

It sounds like there are no target lines configured, defaulting all calls to the control set.

pronei: I was told that you could use MCDN from BCM to BCM, but I will have to look into it. The target line is built for the VM on the 50. I tried changing the control set and prime set to the VM number, but it goes to the general delivery box.

The main issue is the don't use centralized VM (prob good because I read sip doesn't support MWI. They want it so that both systems share the same ATTD.

User's from the 50 call from outside the system to check there messages, the system sends the calls to the ATTD (1351) on the 400, then they put in the VM extension (4274, it than rings on ext 4100 (the control/prime set on the target line for 4274).

cook1082: they don't use DID's on the 50. Could I still make an ATTD they goes straight to VM based on the target line for the VM extension? Thats a really good thought.

I still was wondering if/how to set up MCDN. Do you know of any task based guides for BCM to BCM?

Is the Target Line with 4274 assigned for the BCM50 voice mail to answer? Also is it set up for the Private Rec digits of 4274? As far as pretty good set up guide take a look at the MICS 7.1 Installer and coordinator Guides at Centralized VM & AA. Pretty good explanation of the set up there.

hawks: Target line 299 is set for dn 4274, the private and public are set to 4274 too. 4274 is the main VM number on the 50. I will take a look at that guide. Thanks

SIP trunking on BCM50 R3 supports MWI over SIP trunks with MCDN.

Since your VM are not centralised, the other work around for your problem is to assign a DN number within the DN range of the BCM50 to the AUTO DN under Dialing Plan....
this will allow DISA access.

Wher user call into this AUTO DN number, they will hear a suttle dial tone, then they enter their COS passord, then they can dial the VMDN of the BCM50 and enter the mailbox number and passowrd to access their voice mail.

Let me know how it goes !
