How to use Soft and Hard extension at same time

My hardphone extension is 1160. I installed the IP Communicator, and it registered, but I think it just has a auto-assigned extension. When I call TAPS and try to register 1160 it says it is already in use.

How do I do this?

Go to Device>Phone and search for your IP Communicator. Change the extension number just as you would a hard phone.

I am like brand new to CCM, so I know very, very little.

I couldnt figure out how to change Line 1 to be the same as my hard phone, but I was able to make the Line 2 DN the same as my hardphone. Is there a way to change it on Line 1?

You would do the same procedure as you did for Line 2. But you have to delete the number from Line 2 first. CCM won't let you put the same number in the same Partition on the same phone.
Once you put in the number and the Partition, 'Shared Line' should appear in Red beside the number and most of the settings from your hard phone should populate the screen.
