I was trying to use hp 700/96 to connect to the Port A of an E450. However, there was no prompt from the server. It wasn't working with the default settings. Then I tried serveral different settings. None of them worked.

Can anyone give me some help?

Thanks.

I'm in a similar situation myself, did you end up getting that working? If so what did you have to do?

So far, I've forced the 700/96 into VT100 mode, tried serveral different cables/connectors - I guess I should be using a Null modem cable?

Any ideas?

yes a null modem cable will be necessary for the Sun systems. Also be sure that Sun keyboard is unplugged from server. Terminal should be set to EM100 as well.

Hi,

I'm using a hp 700/96 connect to MicroAnnex xl terminal server. The TermMode available on hp 700/96 are em100, em52, em220 and hp. I've tried all of them and none seem to work. I can see the prompt from Annex, but can't input anything.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks.

Hua - check your terminal itself -

Mine - the Keyboard on the 700/96 often locks, and I have to unplug it, plug back in - and turn on and off the terminal.

Otherwise if the "turning" on of the terminal is what is giving you the prompt, your stop bits or baud rate may be wrong.
