I've pulled data from AS/400 DB2 to SQL Server many times.
Now I'm trying to go the other way and am having no luck.
Am I wasting my time?

nope. Very doable. very good article on it in sql server magazie in march 2003. but its a subscriber only. and its long.

What exactly are you having problems with.

Hi,

Having failed with the production task I've created a file on the AS400 with two fields EFEMNO (Employee Number) and EFSTDT (Start Date) and I'm trying to populate the file from a SQL7 table which has more columns/fields but identical field names using the following SQL in the DTS job

select efemno, efstdt from csempspf.

The message I get is "Query cannot be updated because it contains no searchable columns to use as a key"
which is curious since the DB2 physical file is unique keyed on EFEMNO.

Any advice gratefully received.

Found the answer:
i-series access version 5.2 needs to be at Service level
SI07675 to return correct cursor information to DTS

Thanks leveyp!

I just looked in on this forum for the first time and found this info that will be really helpful for me.
