I have a customer that uses two different inbound numbers on a PRI. The numbers go to two different hunt groups. We want to send calls from both hunt groups to one Avaya 3810 wireless phone. However, we want to allow all calls from hunt group A to reach the phone at all times. We want to block calls from hunt group B except when the people have time to take these calls.

The people using this phone are not very technical (restaurant) so the process must be very easy. I tried programming one of the buttons on the phone with DND and then entering an exception in the exception list. Unfortunately, DND blocks all calls because it looks at the callers number and not the called number so the DND exception list doesn't work.

Do you have any other suggestions how I could accomplish this task for my customer?

So how would the IP office know when people are free to take calls? Usually it is when they press a hunt group enable button.

I hadn't thought about hunt group enable/disable. That's what I love about forums, it gets you thinking about issues in different ways.

Is hunt group enable a toggle or will I have to program one button for each?

It is a toggle. Put the group number in the telephone number field. Wax on - wax off
