how to use CUT ? ?

CUT is a command used to cut a field from a file and display it on to the screen .

create a file $ cat > f1

name age group class sec

let these some of the fields in that file f1 .

suppose u wanna cut the third field

$ cut -d " " -f3

this will give a o/p of "group "

here d stands for the delimiter between the fields .
